Outlining what Britain & Co. are doing to ensure the safety of our teams and customers during the Coronavirus pandemic.

COVID-19 has turned the world upside down over the last few months and all across the UK, businesses are having to examine their working protocols to help reduce transmission rates whilst also continuing to conduct business as usual.

At Britain & Co., we take the safety of our staff and customers very seriously and regularly monitor Government and Public Health guidance to ensure that our own internal risk assessments incorporate any new information. Our overarching aim throughout the pandemic so far has been to ensure that we are able to operate safely, whilst still progressing our projects in line with the original programmes as far as is practically possible.

For all new projects we undertake, we complete a full risk assessment and method statement (RAMS). This document outlines all health and safety approaches we take along with the actions we put in place to mitigate risks whilst working on site. As standard, we ask that all of our staff and subcontractors avoid using public transport to travel to work where possible and to further support this, we’re currently exploring the possibility of implementing cycle-to-work schemes to enable our team members to purchase their own bicycles.

Amongst other actions we have taken, we’ve worked to ensure that social distancing is implemented across all of our active sites, working closely with main contractors where appropriate and restricting access to sites to only those individuals actively working. Enhanced hand-washing procedures have been implemented and we have provided all of our staff with washable face-coverings to be used in enclosed spaces, using PPE only where the task necessitates.

We are also working closely with all of our suppliers to ensure that the procurement of materials and equipment is as smooth as possible, placing orders at a far earlier stage in the project timeline to help reduce any delay that there may be.

If the services that we provide may support an existing or upcoming project you may have and you wish to speak to us, please contact our office on 0207 917 1724. We will be more than happy to provide you with a quote and outline how the project can be managed in accordance with coronavirus guidance, whilst ensuring the intended programme is met.
